Primary treatment services are in an outpatient setting and are offered at both our Redwood City and our Half Moon Bay locations. Services are provided in both English and Spanish. Daytime and evening appointments are available for individual counseling sessions. Groups are generally in the evening, but we do have some groups available in the daytime. Our treatment approach is grounded in the 12 step model of recovery and is combined with evidence-based practices that have been proven effective. We believe in treating the whole person; physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual. On-site 12 step meetings: Narcotics Anonymous, Dual Recovery Anonymous, and Alanon provide additional support.
Our client-centered approach consists of specialized groups to address specific client needs: Harm Reduction (for those on narcotic replacement therapy), Co-occurring group (addresses mental health and addiction issues), Wellness and Empowerment group (for transitional age youth 18-25 years old and addresses safety and recovery for those who have experienced trauma), gender-specific groups, Parole-specific groups (addresses criminal behavior and addiction). We also offer Relapse Prevention groups, Anger Management groups, and Domestic Violence groups which may be a part of treatment.
Family is an important part of an individual’s treatment. In fact family involvement contributes to successful completion of treatment. We provide monthly family education groups to educate and support family members. Therapy services are also offered as a component of treatment to address communication, boundaries, and other areas identified in collaboration with our Therapist.
